My husband has a 17" G4 Powerbook. When we tried upgrading to Leopard last night, but would get a kernel panic just a few minutes into the process. We tried multiple times, and would have the same result. I did some online research and found where some people were talking about getting kernel panic after the Leopard upgrade and they had traced it back to their aftermarket RAM. Since we did install 2G of RAM in this laptop several months ago, we pulled that out and replaced it with the OEM 512. Viola, upgraded with no problem. Problem solved...except he once again has only 512 of RAM. When we put the 2G back in, it immediately locks it up. The brand of the RAM was Axiom. I believe it was purchased at MacMall. Has anyone had experience with this? Any suggestions on a brand to buy that will not cause problems?
