I tried to install Palm Desktop.
At the very end, the installer klunkt a couple of times
as if a folder would not take a file,
and told me that the installation had not succeeded.
I tried to launch HotSync, and got a dialog box saying
Application Launch Failure
The application "HotSync Manager" could not be
launched because of a shared library error:
"4<HotSync Manager><HotSync
Manager><HotSyncLib.PPC><>
I get the same message when I start up the computer.
Perhaps related: I went to Finder/ Help and entered "folder."
Nothing. Apparantly the Help files do not contain the word "folder,"
and everything seemed to slow down.
Perhaps related, sometimes when I try to move a file between two folders
(folders I have created on an external HD, which have nothing to do
with the OS or applications),
the computer makes me enter my password.
