Thanks so much Nelson.
She has no deck of cards and a credit card is too thick.
Tried a hotel room swipe key to no use and a tip chart skinnier than a credit 
card but about as hard.  No help.

Clicking on the eject key of iTunes lets you hear it attempting to eject but 
it's not.  Can't tell if the disk is higher or lower than the eject area.

All other options are most appreciated.

I have no authority for this, so no warranty express or implied, but 
I'd slide a plastic card in the slot, see if I could un-hook the 
latch (if any)
