Marta,
I know I am not The Lord, I HAVE been called the Devil and I certainly
am not a knowledgeable source....but I always enjoy talking with
you. I don't know that I exactly understand what you are asking, but
you did say it right. When you "control scroll" the zooming will go
to the point you have placed the cursor. So, if what you want to see
is on the right of the page put the cursor there and control scroll
with your mouse (or use two fingers on the MBP touchpad as you hold
down the control key).
If you want to center a piece of text then put the cursor as near the
center of the left and right margins as possible and zoom in to fill
the screen then use the wheel to move up and down or a single finger
on the touchpad.
Now, I have done nothing more than repeat what you had already stated
and possibly you made a setting change inside the Preference folder
and clicking on the "Universal Access" icon and then made changes to
the "Zoom" options in the "seeing" tab.
Wish I knew exactly what you had before but I have now exhausted my
lack of knowledge on the Zoom Chronicles.

So, my settings are all gone and being old and of feeble mind, I
have forgotten about many things. Being also feeble eyed, I used to
enlarge texts where I did not have the little and big A to do the
trick, by clicking control and then scrolled with my mouse. Now this
gives you the seasickness effect unless , and that I have forgotten,
unless you do something with your cursor to center it, so the pages
don't fly back and forth when you move the cursor.
Can someone enlighten me how to go about it? I know you can't do
things along the edges, but then ---- please give me insight, give
me advice, give me help from the Lord, the devil or from some other
knowledgeable source.
