The contents of my internal hard drive have outgrown the size of the partitioned external drive that I back up to, so I was looking forward to utilizing Leopard's ability to resize partitions without formatting the whole drive.
But every time I try (following David Pogue's directions in Missing Manual OS 10.5 Chap.10) everything seems to be working till I get to the last step (Apply). Then up pops a box: "Partition failed with the error: Filesystem resize support required, such as HFS+ with Journaling enabled." This is maddening because my external drive already is formatted so. I've googled the error message, but have not found any useful solution. Has anyone else out there wrestled with this beast?
