Any idea if it will open MacWrite files from early 1990s?
It's not listed as one of the formats. I'd check out MacLinkPlus from Dataviz. I know it opens MacWrite II—and almost everything else including WriteNow and the old Word Perfect files.
I had this problem with old WriteNow files and it's why I'm sticking with well-documented open formats from now on. I don't want to have this problem reading my old files in 2015. All my word processing is in Open Office or LaTeX format.
NASA is having the same problem with old data from the moon. It was saved on tapes in formats that can only be read by machines that are no longer being made. They have actually grabbed some of the machines from museums in order to get at old data.
