To follow up with another great story from Apple..... I had one of the Intel Black MacBooks, bought it 2 1/2 years ago and it is the first machine in the hundreds I have owned since 1984 that was a lemon. It has been to Nashville three times for repair, twice to the Louisville Apple store for repair, the latest being over the weekend.
We thought the wireless card was going out for the range from the Airport Extreme could not be much more than 15 feet. Got it back home last night with the new card and the problem was not fixed, so back to the store again today but I had ask to talk to a manager. Once there they knew the problem already for I had called the manager on duty last night and she had arranged for me to talk to the day manager. Within a few min. they came back out from checking the machine in the back room saying they were going to give me a new MacBook, same amount of ram, same hard drive size. I ask if I could upgrade to a MacBook Pro and they said sure so tonight I have a brand new machine with twice the ram, and twice the hard drive for about a third of what I would have spent to outfit one from scratch. Amazing company, and don't EVER purchase a new machine without Apple Care, it has saved my skin MANY times on these repairs and allowed for this to be done today.
