I would have bet the farm that Steve was in bad shape when they reported the end of MacWorld and that Steve would NOT be making the Keynote. Not many survive pancreatic cancer, here is a quote:

According to the American Cancer Society, for all stages of pancreatic cancer combined, the one-year relative survival rate is 20%, and the five-year rate is 4%.


No one will be able to replace the visionary Steve and let's hope that his aliments are something else.

News about Steve Jobs in the December 29 issue of Newsweek magazine. He is reported as ailing from an apparent return of this pancreatic cancer. He had surgery for it 4 years ago. The report said he looked frail and gaunt at an Apple conference last June and has cancelled his Keynote address for
the  January MacWorld event. The Newsweek piece used an unflattering
drawing of Steve.
