Ben,
I wish I had an answer, just as I wish I knew an answer for KC on the
iSight problem but both of these are beyond my experience. Your
error message sounds like the CD is out of calibration, duh, and I
don't know how or if they can be re-calibrated.
You might call MacAuthority and ask the Tech Support folks what can be
done. (502-259-5490) An external CD drive isn't very costly so that
also may be a solution. If there are no replies to KC's iSight
problem then calling MacAuthority would surely bring help.

When I try to burn CDs on my G5 it's been giving me a "can't
calibrate media" error message and not working. I've tried cleaning
the CD drive, running disk utilities and using different CDs and
nothing has worked. Does it sound like the CD drive is
malfunctioning and must be replaced--which may not make sense on a
machine this age--or might there be some other problem that can be
fixed less expensively? Thanks for any suggestions--Ben Zion
