Until iTunes + we were NOT able to transfer files from iPod to iPod
(and with iTunes + this may still be the case, don't know if the
removal of the DRM will still prevent iPod to iPod).
It should work if you dock the iPod that has the songs to a computer
that has iTunes and if the songs are not in the iTunes library (and
the computer is registered as one of the 5 Apple allows on iTunes)
then a question will ask you if you want to transfer the songs from
the iPod to iTunes. Once they are all in iTunes then dock the iTouch
and iTunes should allow a transfer to the iTouch AS LONG AS IT IS ALSO
registered to the owner. If the iTouch has another library on it you
will first be told that the current library will be wiped out to sync
with the new iTunes.

Subject: Transfer music files from an Ipod 4G to and Ipod Toudh
Hi, my name is Gorden and I live in Louisville. I am trying to
find someone who can advise me on the transfer of music files from
an Ipod 4G to an Ipod Touch. About 3 years ago, I copied my mostly
classical CD collection to my desktop computer and downloaded them
to my Ipod 4G. The desktop computer blew completely and I cannot
access those files to download to my new Ipod Touch. I found a
software package on the AVG site that was supposed to enable this
transfer but have not been able to make it work. The software will
see the 4G, but will not open the 4G to the music files and when I
attempt to do the transfer the files, a message comes up saying
that no files are selected. Does anyone have a suggestion for me?
Thanks Gorden T McMurry, MD
