Perhaps someone may be able to help me with my latest quandary. It used to be true that my MAIL screen showed several sites to the left of the actual mail.
I still have an INBOX, a SENT box, a TRASH box,, and a JUNK box. But the Mackintosh HD logo, the little house which represents my personal site (watk5926), the DOCUMENTS site, and a couple more are gone. My daughter swears she didn't do anything to cause it... and I made no changes that I'm aware of. I did NOT install the new 10.5.7... I was forewarned by the problems some had with that. I can't figure out how to get them back . They are in my system, but the work-around to get to them each time is time-consuming and annoying. I tried copying my DOCUMENTS file and dragging it to the area to drop. Won't go! Tried shutting the whole computer down and reopening it after a wait. NO luck! How do I get those things back, short of reloading the whole 10.5.6 system? I can call Apple Care (and will) if nobody knows a quick fix. But you folks usually know more than they do, it seems. I will be anxiously awaiting some amazing revelation!
