Jan, i am new to this mailing list, but in reading your original request
earlier, i would submit that you could get a USB modem for that Mac, and it
should work fine.  The Hayes you mentioned is one of the generic modem
strings already stored in the OS for connecting modem types that aren't
listed.  One i remember using on my G3, in the past, was the Hayes, if the
modem i had was not a listed one or if it didnt perform as well using the
string for my particular modem.
