If you don't check the box to install Rosetta. If you start a program that has 
PPC code then Rosetta will be downloaded and installed.  PPC code is dead end 
of Life as far as Apple is concerned. Now I know OS 9 is still being used my 
some but it is dead parrot as far as Apple is concerned and PPC code is the 
same to them. I would say Two big cat releases down the line say Maine Coon 
cat. You will not even be able to install it just as OS 9 disappeared as an 
optional install when you installed OSX.

Really? I didn't know that. I just checked the box to install it when
I upgraded. It's kind of dumb on Apple's part to make it optional. Not
all apps have been upgraded to Cocoa nor will all of them ever be, I'm
sure.
