Ed's sounds like the more comprehensive fix, but I also find that using "Network" preferences' "Assist me..." button is useful when I lose connection to my router, either at home or work (since I carry a laptop back and forth, this happens fairly often, but seems to be happening more lately).

The "Assist Me..." button always tells me to reset the router, even if other computers are hooking up just fine. What I find mysterious are two things: that I had been getting an IP address (say 192.168.1.5) which didn't match the IP address reserved for my MAC address

that I could have an IP address which came off the proper range, and yet I could not login to the router itself.

I'll get to see how well Ed's resetting procedure works when I get back to Louisville in the next couple of weeks. In any case, it was good to clear out all the endless useless remembered networks from hotels and airports (the kind with planes and runways).

Lessee what happens,

Bill
