First go to System Preferences and click on Keyboard & Mouse

Click on keyboard shortcuts. See if there is a yellow warning triangle next to
the shift+N shortcut.
Hit the restore to go back to the default settings.

Perhaps a program has taken over the short cut.

Subject: [MacGroup] weird behavior

Hi Folks,

My wife's computer has started opening /Users/Shared every time she types
Shift-N, regardless of the application.

I had her look in the keyboard shortcuts in the System Preference, and had her
zap the PRAM. Other than that I'm at a loss.

Where would you look to see why capital N's have become a capital pain?

Bill
