Sorry about the blank message. I was testing some changes I made to the configuration and accidentally hit the wrong button.

I may as well say something about iOS4 on the 3Gs.

As programs get upgraded, it will get better. When I first installed it, the MLB.com program wouldn't play nicely with other programs; the sound would stop on a double-tap. An upgrade came out today that fixed the problem.

Stitcher still has some problems in the background. If I bring up several other programs, notable the Huffington Post client, the Stitcher sound gets weird.

Pedometer, Waze and GPS Lite do not go gracefully into the background. I think it's because they don't yet have the hooks to read the GPS when backgrounded. They'll probably be upgraded soon.

There are some cosmetic problems. For example, icons on the program selection bar should rotate when the screen is in landscape mode.

On the other hand, it is nice being able to use an external Bluetooth keyboard. Several years ago, I got a Think Outside Stowaway <http://www.mobiletechreview.com/tips/stowaway_Bluetooth_Keyboard.htm> fold-up keyboard [1] for use with a long-dead Palm. Yesterday, I blew off the dust and tried it with the 3Gs. It was detected immediately and works well! I've used it in both Notes and Mail. When folded, the keyboard is only an inch longer and wider than the phone, with about the same thickness. The biggest problem with using the keyboard is that I keep reaching for a mouse that's not there. (iOS does not support mice.)
