I think I know what I'm doing,
but having never done it before,
I'd like a little reassurance.

I have:

iMac 1.83GHz Intel Cor Duo

More about~ reveals
Serial-ATA
Maxtor 6L160M0:

  Capacity: 152.67 GB
  Model: Maxtor 6L160M0
  Revision: BACE1GE0
  Serial Number: L3A3KLJG
  Native Command Queuing: Yes
  Queue Depth: 32
  Removable Media: No
  Detachable Drive: No

to be replaced with something like:

Western Digital SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive $85 to $95
1Tb or perhaps 1.5Tb

¿ is my SATA computer compatible with a SATA3.oGb/s HDD?

I welcome comparisons of HDD brands and lines,
e.g. Hitachi, Lenovo, Samsung, Seagate, or WD
WD Black or Blue, or if heat is likely to be a problem, Green.

OR, since Apple says the CPU is too slow for LeopardŠ
