Yes iChat works great really no need to purchase MobileMe if you don't need it.
Now are you talking about the iPhone video chat. It requires WiFi connection
right now and yes it is that good.
I have talked to my daughter at work with it and it was just great.
A three way chat requires that the person starting the iChat session have a
high end iMac or Mac Pro to run the 3 or 4 way chat. A two party iChat session
works fine the only thing that has caused an issue for me was the Wifi
connection or internet connection of each party on the session. If you have a
flaky internet connection voice works better by itself without the video.

Subject: [MacGroup] iChat on the Mac

My daughter and her husband are moving to Bowling Green for his job. This is
going to be hard on her, she is so close to her sister (I think they could care
less about the parents) but I would be happy to go with a family membership
with MobileMe for I already use it for myself.

My question to the group is this. Does it work like the Apple advertisement
demonstrate? Is it that good for it looks fantastic.

John
