Necessity is the mother of invention, or I have to rush my buns to record something I really want by Wed. morning. So, today I went to BestBuy & picked up a Tivo. I had called last night and Insight will be here Monday evening to install the card.
I need a quick and dirty way to get up to speed on this thing so I can at least record to the Tivo from 6 to 9 am Wed. Then I will need to know how to get the recording off the Tivo so some Mac in the room. I will read the manuals but since this has become a rush job I thought a quick 1-2-3 hand holding would be appreciated. Since there is an ethernet port on the back does this appear on your Mac and you drag the movie to the Mac? I will use the HDMI port to connect to the TV, it even has a SETA slot for backing up. I know some of you have done this forever so if you have the time to send a couple notes on timed recording and moving to the Mac I sure would be grateful. I do know I'll need TOAST, which I have not yet purchased, but as long as I save the recording to the Tivo hard drive then I can move it later in the week. Many thanks for your help.
