I upgraded and then downgraded, because all times for floating events were 
offset by a few hours [1]. 

That being said, I think the main point is that the main files are stored by 
Apple rather than on your computer.

[1] They were set as though I lived in Cupertino. So... I'm guessing that if I 
first set the timezones in iCal and me.com to 'Pacific' and then upgraded, 
things might work better. I might try this weekend....
