MY 8-yr-old daughter knocked an old CRT TV off its shelf the other day, after
being told in no uncertain terms to leave it alone. We are very relieved (to
say the least) that it did not land on her. <shudder>

But it became what is referred to as a "teachable moment."

We're lucky that's all it was, but you're right: that's how we learn--by being
being impetuous and disobedient.

PS. and that's how parents learn to child-proof a household! ::-\
