Anne,

Awhile back you ask about photo's in your library that were gray or black. My
daughter had the same situation, all when the photo's were taken with a Kodak
camera. Why I don't know for some of them would work, most were blank.

I followed the exact steps at this link from Apple.

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2638

The first rebuilding didn't help, so I created the new library as suggested and
it worked perfectly, a new library with not a single bad photo......they were
not imported but discarded so instead of a little over 9,000 photo's there were
just over 8,000. Not a good solution.

Going back to the original library we then had "one" picture that was
"recovered" so all this work did little. Then in a few days my daughter
emailed me saying that several more just showed up in the recovered folder, but
not near enough.

On line I found one post that listed most of the things that Apple had
suggested, then they said that using DiskWarrior to rebuild the directory
recovered many of their photo's. So far I have not done this for they live in
Bowling Green but I will go down in December and give it a shot. If it helps
I'll let you know.

John
