I have a weird situation happening with a spreadsheet I am working on. I have a column for inputting dates and have it set up in General format to exhibit my dates like 16 Jun 1887, etc. However, I just entered dates in the 1900s like 1 Jan 1909 and 16 Jun 1906 and the spreadsheet converted the field to the date function which displays the dated now as 1-Jan-09, etc. I tried to play around with one of the fields and it now shows the date as 6/16/06. I have tried changing them back to the General format and it confirms General, but when I type in those dates it immediately changes it to the Date format. Help. What am I doing wrong?
