Hi, I am having similar issues with my G4 iBook (last model in the
series before Apple introduced the MacBook).. my airport card(onboard
type) seems to finally have given up. I have an original Airport
Express i can connect with to wifi, cabling the signal to the iBook,
but when i try and reset the Express, it shows that it has a
self-assigned IP address, and i have done the hard-reset method at
least 15 times. This Express was working and the Genius Bar folks
tell me it is fine, but i still can't set it up. Any suggestions
would be helpful at this stage, as for now, i own a great
laptop/bookend.
