I just bought a new iMac running OS 10.7.3. The Apple store transferred the apps and files from the old one to the new one. Every thing transferred except those apps running under Power Mac, which were mercifully small and if needed can be accessed from the old iMac, which is still operating. Dunno if this is any help, but thought I'd offer it FYI.
