My 2007 MBP has been giving me hints that it's hard drive won't make it through
the summer, so I plan on switching it out with a new one. I am getting a
Western Digital 320GB, to replace the 120GB. I have also ordered an enclosure
that I can put the old one in after I transfer them.
My concern is making the data transfer. Do I first just connect the old one
(still in the MBP) to the new one in the enclosure with a usb cable and use
Migration Assistant on the Mac? I know I'll need to format the new one as
Journaling something to be Mac friendly, but do I have to put Lion on the new
one before I 'Migrate'? Or does Lion get moved over too? Since I upgraded to
10.7.xx, I don't have an install disc (because I downloaded it), so do I ...?
...go to the app store and somehow reinstall from previous purchases? How can I
make the new drive as clean as possible?
Looking forward to doing this surgery this Holiday weekend. As always, I
appreciate anyone's help and advice.

Bill Micou
