My personal feedback, based on my first day of experience with 10.8. Downloaded and installed onto my quad i7 today. Surprised that it took so long - about 1/2 hour to install after the large download was complete.
Several things are broken. Games with multiple screen resolutions seem vulnerable. Cad program seems to be ok. One of the general functions which I use all of the time, and which has been around since at least 10.4, is gone. I can no longer do the two fingered control-zooms, in or out. Just dead. The zoom by finger pinching or the smart zoom with the two-finger double tap doesn't work either, or at least not for me on this two month old machine with 16 G of ram. In the past I've made it a practice to wait at least several months before upgrading. Thus far the most noteworthy thing about 10.8 is that it reminds me of why.
