B&W will probably come out fine, as long as you've got reasonably high resolution — 300 ppi at the size the photos will actually run would be best. And for printing a club roster I don't think you'd need a true page layout program to get good enough quality. Microsoft Word, Pages, etc. should work just fine. If there is choice when saving your PDFs, choose the highest possible resolution.
It probably would be easiest to use a table in your word processing program, as that will make it easier to line up the photos and text. > What about results if the photos are B&W?
