Tonya, I talked to your friend Bryan, and he was helpful. He recommended the Epson artisan series or the Epson Stylus Photo Pro.

I'm still doing research, especially via Amazon's comments. (What a huge help they are!) One of the objections to the Epson Artisan printers - at least, the models before 2012 is that they don't handle card stock very well. If one wants to print cover stock for reports or business card stock, some of these printers won't work.

Will keep you all posted,
Jane

I have never been one to print my own photos, but some who do tell me that the trick is in getting the right paper for your printer. The paper is what makes all the difference I am told.

Bill,
I just need it for frequent use. However, I'm not ruling out a project either.

I've seen some lovely photos others have printed out (can't remember who or I would ask them), so I know a good printer exists.

I've used Walgreens, etc. before as well, but I'd rather have a good photo printer here at home.

Has anyone ever used the Kodak printers? Color laser printers?

Still asking for other ideas.
Jane

PS. Thanks for the contact idea Tanya.

I've always been frustrated with any of the 'photo' printers that I have tried over the years, so whenever I now need to print a group of pictures, I take them to Walgreens, or the FedEx store and have them do them.

Hi Everyone,

I really need a decent printer that prints photos beautifully. I would prefer one under $200, but I'm open to other suggestions.

What about color laser? Is this the best way to go?

TIA,
Jane
