I've been interested in this, and have read several books about how the
physiology of the brain affects psychology. (My favorites are The Tell-Tale
Brain by V. S. Ramachandran and any of the books by Steven Pinker.) I’m far
from an expert, but as far as I can tell, this left-brain, right-brain stuff
has been exaggerated by the popular press far beyond what the scientists
actually claim.

This is an area where it's nearly impossible to set up controlled experiments
on normal brains for obvious reasons. Until recently, much of the science has
been done on people with severe epilepsy whose cerebral hemispheres were
surgically separated as a treatment, or other people with severe brain
injuries. Who knows what other abnormalities were present.

My feeling is that everybody uses both sides of the brain and the locations (if
any) of logic/art/creativity are a lot more complicated than the articles in
Popular Psychology would lead you to believe.
