Harry,

This screenshot shows my groups in iCloud (from my address book)

Do you have your new iMac set up to sync your contacts with the Cloud?  Stupid question,  but if it is then you should be able to duplicate.  Now, the "groups" need to be set up in ADDRESS BOOK (as you have done) for them to work in Mail.  This screenshot is from my address book.

As far as smart folders in mail I can't help for not matter how I tried to create them to selectively put emails into certain folders there would always be many that would go into the various folders that didn't belong there.  Since I stay on top of the emails I decided it wasn't worth the frustration and I handle it manually.

Hello all,

Last month I purchased a new iMac and have been working with Mac Mail on that computer. I set up a few smart groups and have been putting my highschool classmates in my address book in preparation for our 50th reunion later this summer.

this week I am in southern Alabama visiting my son and his family. I brought along my 6 year old (this month) MacBook Pro running OS 10.7.5 (the iMac has 10.8.x).

I just discovered that the smart groups I set up on my iMac are not on my MacBook Pro. I also discovered that none of my smart groups are in my address book in the cloud.

Any idea what's happening and what I can do to correct the situation?

TIA.

Harry
