I found Notability about a year ago and use it often. I think it cost 2.99, but it does alot. You can write with a stylus, or the keyboard (or both within a document). It also lets you record audio within a note. You could record the lecture, but take notes also. One of my favorite uses is doctor appointments. When my wife had her knee operations, and the doc came to me afterwards with the results, I was too worried to listen to everything he said, but I had Notability next to me recording his report. Afterward I could play it back for myself and my wife. It also lets you record video for a note. That was used during her phy. therapy to help document progress.
I heard good things about Penulimate also, but i have no experience with that one.
I use Penulimate as it was promoted by the guy at Apple that taught me FinalCut. It is great one.

I am taking a class at UofL. One of my classmates was writing notes with a stylus on his samsung tablet. I asked him what app he was using and he told me Papyrus. I went to the app store and downloaded Papyrus to my ipad, but it’s some kind of video or photo app.So are there decent iPad apps for writing notes with a stylus in my iPad?TIA.Harry
