There's still much to understand. According to what I read on the site, clockwinders.net is a standard BSD-based site, so there should be no problem connecting to a mail server running there. Port problems related to ISPs are usually caused by the ISP blocking certain incoming ports. That should not be the case here because getting your mail is done with outgoing ports.
