Hi all,

My mom is having problems all of a sudden with her old MacBook and her gmail
account. When I say old, I mean:
  MacBook circa 2009
  Mail 3.6 (936)
  Mac OS X 10.5.8
(so I really mean old, in the digital sense).

She is not getting any new mail; I believe she said she could send mail, though
that could have been through the web client.

The warning signs are entirely unhelpful: when Mail.app tries to fetch mail,
she gets the dreaded 'enter your password' dialog. We all know from Lee that
this means zippo, because it is the default error.

Part of the problem could have arisen because my mom got an email from Google
saying that someone in Novosibirsk had tried to get into her account.

In any case, she's changed her google password and has made sure that the
password in Mail.app matches the new password.

Other troubleshooting already tried:
unplugging and replugging in the modem
  restarting the computer
flushing Safari caches (though this was for another reason)
flushing the P-RAM (cmd-opt-P-R boing boing boing boing etc.)

Anyone have any hints for what the next step would be?

I'm stumped.

Bill
