Hey there,

We use macbook pros and airs. I like the pro better because even portable it
gets hit (lightly) every once in awhile. The air didn't fare so well. Love my
macbook pro 15.4" it's a 2011 model and have had to replace a logic board. I
don't know about refurbished. But I have bought things from Mac Authority used
and they have done really well.

Hope that helps.

I am looking for suggestions on a good Apple laptop for my needs.

Debating between an older refurbished unit versus new.

Something in the 13"-15" range. It will be really only be used for coding
through Xcode, Python, a text editor, etc. Basically what I use my iMac for,
just portable.

What do people think of the older MacBook Air versus a MacBook Pro? Would the
smaller SSD be an issue? I don't believe I need a SuperDrive. I barely use the
one on my iMac.

Since this is mostly for play, not a professional yet, I have been leaning
toward one of the 13" MacBook Air with 4gb memory and 128gb SSD.

What do people think?
