I was trying to return the Favorites sidebar to the way it was yesterday. For
some reason, when I shut my machine down yesterday because things were running
very slowly, the sidebar changed.

In trying to move a file to the Favorites, it would not go in as a file and
instead ended up in the Applications folder in the Sidebar. Now I can't get it
out of Applications except as an alias.

I can remove other files from Applications with no problem but this one will
only move as an alias. It is a FileMaker Pro database, not an application. I
want to get the original back where it belongs and would like to have an alias
in the Favorites Sidebar. What's my problem"

Running Mac OS X 10.8.5.
