Thanks Jonathan, this is a good note to keep.  I have an AT&T DSL line at home, 
hooked to an Airport Extreme.  It’s been installed for a good while, put the 
Modem in Bridge mode and has worked fine.  

At my office I was able to get U-Verse, they installed and put the modem in 
bridge mode and is hooked to an Airport Extreme.  

All works fine, don’t know why, don’t know how.  It was a short install as far 
as time and I have never had to have them back.  I don’t like AT&T at all, if I 
didn’t need them as a backup to cable I wouldn’t have anything with them.

Guess I have been lucky.
