I can’t figure out HOW?

We didn’t touch a thing. I had just purchased a new Extreme, set it up seconds
before we connected the AT&T modem. For a good while, as the tech was instant
messaging and calling the Airport was green but not connected to the internet
as it was yellow.

After several minutes the internet portion popped green and everything was
working great. To be sure it was the Airport that was in control we unhooked
it to see if the AT&T modem was distributing the IP’s and keeping me connected
to the internet. Nope we were off the net.

Plugged the Extreme back in and everything has been working for about a week.

It appears as if somehow the Extreme is telling the modem/router that it wants
the job of router and it works to set the modem/router to bridge mode without
human intervention. Possible?

Whatever, very impressed!
