A little Googling shows that several companies install it without telling you: 
Adobe, NBA streaming and Intuit. If you don’t use any of those a lot, I’d nuke 
it.

PS/ These kind of things are usually there to smooth streaming downloads or to 
speed up network access to sites that know how to optimize throughput through 
cooperation with the special agent on your computer. For example, major league 
baseball has one they call NextDef that’s used for streaming MLB and NFL games. 
I leave that one in place all summer for baseball.
