Friends, family, love and hope…it’s what makes our lives worth getting out of
bed….

Wishing each of you a very Merry Christmas and may we experience a much
improved New Year!!

I also wanted to mention a feature NO ONE had every put into print, at least
that I have seen, so here is a morsel that some of you may find interesting.

Apple pay, I am using it daily at so many stores. ACE Hardware, Express
clothing, ToysRUs, in addition to the many I have already mentioned…

Today I accidentally discovered a safety feature Apple has put into their
payment system.

We were shopping in Bowling Green, KY since we had made a trip for a grandson’s
play. His sister was sick so she and I stayed in the Jeep while my wife went
in to purchase the Gift Cards.

All had gone well for several stops, then when she returned from ToysRUs she
said the card was rejected…what?

Then I received a text from Apple Pay saying the card would no longer work with
Apple Pay terminals…WHY?

Shortly I receive another text from Apple asking if I had made a purchase for X
amount at the ToysRUs store…I typed 1 for yes.

Then another text saying that within 5 min. Apple Pay would be activated and I
could continue using it…

Here is how they protected me from being hacked through the Apple Pay system.

Since my wife didn’t know how to use the Apple Pay, and since I had the iPhone
and Apple Watch in the Jeep with me she swiped the card as a normal “old
fashion” transaction. Apple recognized that this was a card with an account
through them, the terminal was Apple Pay enabled so it appeared to Apple the
card may have been stolen since it was NOT linked to the iPhone or Apple Watch
that was suppose to be with the card!

I had always felt Apple Pay was the safest available but I hadn’t thought
through what would happen if my card was stolen and it was used at an Apple
terminal…

I keep pushing for merchants to jump on board, and now more than ever.

Merry Christmas to a marvelous group of people!!

John
