Harry was so good to let us know of the Murphy Camera special where the Canon Pixma Pro-100 was free by sending in the rebate for the cost of the printer.
In the Indiana store they were backordered but it was in by December 24th. I downloaded the most recent drivers from Canon but could not get it to be seen by the Mac, called tech support and was told I had to “set it up” with a USB cable and then I could use Ethernet…..it’s about 15 feet away so I had to order a 16 foot USB, took another week. Hook it up and set up as directed….but it still would not connect via Ethernet. Called Tech support again and of all things….I didn’t need the USB cable…UGH. So, if any of you also purchased and you want to use Ethernet. Turn the printer on, once ready use the 2nd button down, not the on/off button on top. Hold that button in until the light blinks 11 time, then release. The Wi-Fi light will go off and the Ethernet card has been turned on. Go in to your Printer settings in System Preferences and “add” the “lan” printer driver. Now you will have 3 Canon printers showing, one for USB, one for “Lan” and I assume the other is for Wi-Fi…haven’t tried that one. Now it works fine…isn’t it amazing what a little knowledge will do!!! Thanks again, Harry, this seems to be a great printer.
