In doing some spring cleaning at work they found an old, gray G4 in storage that we are going to haul off to recycling. I wanted to wipe the hard drive before doing so, but have been unsuccessful in my attempts. Apparently the CD drive gave up the ghost so I can't boot from the install CD. I tried an external CD drive but it won't boot from that either. Was going to boot into Target disk mode and wipe from a remote computer via firewire, but it won't boot into Target disk mode, I even tried entering the Terminal command for TDM and rebooting from Terminal and no luck there either. It just does a normal boot. Is there any option I'm not thinking of that might work here, besides driving my car over the hard drive? :-)
