Credit where credit is due: John is a great guy, but he’s totally running on fumes here. The cake was a mix, not scratch. Any old fool can follow the directions on the back of the box. (Good thing, eh?) There IS a far more interesting story about the decoration on the cake, though: Our Korean student that came for her freshman year of high school and kept coming back to us so that she is now a sophomore at UK, decorated the cake. She excels at whatever she does and we just adore her. SHE turned 20 on the same day Marta turned 90! MiSun spent a good portion of her own graduation from teenager-hood decorating a cake and celebrating with the widow of a guy who fought in the war that rescued her country from the communist tyranny that devastated so much of Asia. MiSun enjoys her world travels and extended families in two countries because of the brave sacrifices of men like Dayton and their unselfish prayer warriors back home like Marta. I don’t know 'bout y’all, but the word that keeps popping into my head here is, “poignant.” Jonathan P.S. Wedding cakes? Just.
