Sometimes Apple makes decision that make little sense…what if only a few million utilize a product, so what. It cost them in vertical sales or lost sales to a competitor, and they don’t seem to get it.
I have used Aperture for years, it’s fantastic, several basic adjustments BUT the best thing about the product is organization. It’s out of this world if you want to get detailed. Not only can you organize by event, date, Metadata, Face recognition, etc. etc, one of the most powerful is naming the folks in the photo. So, a huge collection of photo’s can be recalled based on many criteria. If we are having a birthday party for a particular family member I can ask for photo’s for just that person, and from birth to current age they will appear. Maybe I want that person only when with their brother. Done. On it goes… Now Apple is not bringing out further updates and I’ll eventually need to move to Adobe. My question concerns the Lightroom organization. Is it similar to Aperture? Is it better, non existent? Those that use Lightroom I would appreciate your letting me know how this software handles the organizing of your work. Thanks a bunch.
