Hi all, My reliable use-more-power-than-a-cfl motor-driven outlet timers are all starting to bite the dust after about 20 years of use. When I looked on-line and in stores I was excited at first, because they were digital and had no motors to wear out. Unfortuately, reviews paint them to be Walmart quality: slightly cheaper, but specially made to break within 2 years, if not at first use.
Because of this, I thought that maybe I should update to fancy wifi controllers also with no moving parts. Of course, I'm a bit worried because there are so many security articles saying that wifi home parts (like Nest or iHome or whatever) have security problems. Does anybody have recommendations for timers or their modern replacements? Bill
