Hi all,

I was working along on my 15 inch MBP late 2012 today, when the mouse pointer
disappeared, and shortly thereafter the computer spontaneously rebooted.
Typically, when this type of thing happens, I would expect there to be a kernel
panic. Nope. No kernel panic.

I looked through the Console logs after the reboot and found a bunch of odd
messages:

On bootup, many of these:
  8/26/2016 18:21:25.000 kernel[0]: Sandbox: CommCenter(225) deny(1)
file-read-metadata /private/var/folders

Then a bunch of these:
  8/26/2016 18:23:52.000 kernel[0]: Sandbox: coreduetd(71) deny(1)
file-read-metadata /Applications/Calendar.app

with different applications, all listed 5 times.

I googled some of these messages, but found little advice about what they might
mean. I reset the PRAM, I turned off 'Allow handoff ...' in System Preferences
> General. I tried rebooting in safe mode and then rebooting again normally. I
tried deleting the files in /var/db/CoreDuet . Nothing changed.

Anyone have any idea what this could be, or why the computer spontaneously
restarted?

In case it makes a difference, I did have a kernel panic a few weeks ago for a
reason I do not know, as there were no peripherals attached. I've also had a
bit of trouble getting the computer to recognize clicks on the trackpad; the
pad clicks, but nothing happens with the mouse about 40% of the time. (I
checked into this, but only found fixes which any fumble-fingering could break
the computer entirely.)

Any hints would be appreciated.

Bill
