Since I purchase my Apple products through the business I work with the
Business division at the Apple Store….I had placed an order for the new AirPods
and when the store allotments began to trickle in they set one aside.

I picked the set up a couple days after Christmas….

How to describe these micro sized earbuds? Like most everything Apple does
they are a mighty wonder….the box is almost identical to one brand of dental
floss…I sure can see that one of the biggest problems we will face is LOSING
them…good grief they are small, so light I often forget I have them in the
ears….

So convient, take one out and the stream pauses….inserting and the music or
book resumes….

Double tapping the top of the device summons Siri, there you can ask her the
normal questions…but the only way to increase or decrease the volume is to ask
Siri to do the work for you….or go to the device to make the volume changes.

I have been working most of the afternoon at the computer and have gotten so
used to them I literally don’t realize they are reading me a book….I have also
FINALLY found a way to watch a YouTube video or a NetFlex documentary while
getting cleaned up. I have struggle with several brands trying to find a way
to use that time productively…but nothing worked as the cords always got in the
way of shaving,…now I have a solution.

Biggest drawback will be finding them, yes Apple should have allowed us to
“find my AirPod” by using the iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch….

I did see yesterday that Apple has filed for a Patent using magnets in
conjunction with their AirPods…using a magnet over the outside of the ear which
would “suck” the AirPod into the ear and finally answer this problem of having
them come out during vigorous exercise.

Sound quality is fantastic, I have always used Bose and possibly they are a
smidgen better but not enough I can tell a different. Most of my listening is
Audio Books, but this morning I watched a documentary from Netflix as I got
cleaned up, this provided my first experience with deep base as the into to the
video was accompanied with Studio prepared score…WOW, it was indeed awesome…

They syncing with the iPhone 7+ was simply Open the iPhone, open the lid on the
AirPods and you were done. With the iPad I had to go into settings and choose
the AirBuds as the iPad doesn’t have the chip that allows the auto sync, the
next version certainly will.

I’ve made one phone call with the AirPods and the person said the voice was
clear and he could hear me fine…possibly a bit more muffled but he had no
problem with the reception.

Fortunately I had a Nite Ize Cargo Cell phone case that I use to carry a Sony
Voice recorder….so I can jot down info as I am listening to various Audio
Books, and to my surprise the inside is separated by two compartments so the
Sony can remain in the back pocket and the AirPods fit perfectly in the
front…at least I have a place to keep them secure and readily handy for use.

I wanted to give our group my 2 cents assessment of this latest devise….Tim
Cook has said they are selling so well they can’t make them fast enough…I can
see why…
