Hey Anne,
This may or may not help. My company uses all the design programs (CS suite)
however I have an old mac (quadra) that I use to open very old pagemaker files
which are converted to Indesign files. I often get xml files that are old
Indesign files.
I don't know anyone using pages or publisher anymore. I keep quark, pagemaker,
freehand and fontographer on that old quadra. I never had any of the software
that made publisher, or pages files. I'd be happy to try an open your file on
my old computer and see what happens. Let me know if I can help.

 Subject: [MacGroup] Missing file?

I have a file in my directory that won’t open .It is a Pages document and when
I double click on  it I get the message: “Past Programs.pages” couldn’t be
opened. The required index .xml file is missing.

What does this mean. Is the document totally lost to me. I can click once on
the file icon and hit the space bar to get  an image of the page. Use
Command-Snift 4 and take screenshot. Use "page down" and get next page as
graphic.

Saved all 6 pages to a new Pages document this way. However I don’t want to
retype it if at all possible.

I may just print out my graphics and use OCR to convert to text.

Rats.

Any suggestions?

Anne
