True Bill, that’s completely at the feet of our legislator’s, the highest corporate tax on the PLANET other than a couple other countries…so, Apple has to compete with Samsung for instance.
They both make a phone for $100.00, Samsung pays a tax of 10%, Apple pays a tax of 35% to 38%, who has the advantage? If we want any company to compete the playing field has to be level and hitting Apple with a 25% disadvantage will mean either they sell fewer products or their margins will be cut so low they can’t fund R&D, advertising, and all the other expenses to run a company. All any company wants is to play the game with the same rules…if the tax rules change you’ll see a lot of companies move money back home….for some reason the folks that have been running the country can’t get past Economics 101.
