A MacBook Pro does NOT react well to Diet Ginger Ale. It probably wasn’t any
more than 2.5 - 3 ounces but it did shut down. I turned it over, wiped it
quickly and turned it up so as to drain anything I could back out. Left it over
night. Next morning it would not fire up. I called and got a genius bar appt
for yesterday.

My whole work life and world is on MacBook Pro. A lot of my current project was
on the desktop in folders. I was freaking out. Yes, I use time machine and
iCloud but still. I went in and told Nick what happened and he said give me a
few minutes and let me see what it is like. I sat at the bar and talked to
other customers. Nick returned.

He asked if I had turned it on and I said no. He told me he opened it up, blew
it out and cleaned up the corrosion he could. Opened the top and pressed the
start button and it fired up! YES!

So I brought it home and all is well. Until, I just went to add items to my
calendar and it is EMPTY and so is everything else in iCloud on my MBP. They
are on my iPhone but not here. How do I get them back on my MBP? Can I search
time machine and just restore that part or can I sync it somehow making sure it
goes to my MBP and doesn’t kill everything on my phone and iPad.

Your help appreciated as always,

Richard
